The past 25 years cannot be erased by some words on a page or from someone's voice speaking to me. The past 25 years cannot be erased or re-written full stop. Strange because I can still remember the time when I would have accepted what they were saying as though it were directly from God instead of just some man's interpretation of another man's interpretation of a long-ago story. Whilst I may feel that way, it's temporary because I'm still me. Nothing has fundamentally changed inside of me from before I listened to those tracks or read those stories. I listen to some motivational tapes, I read inspiring books and stories and afterwards I feel on top of the world. I hit points of great belief before disillusionment sets in and my faith hits the road. It felt so strange to listen to the various pastors and sermons. What was running through my mind as I read that bit is the way that I tend to slide back into old habits. I was watching some stuff on the God channel whilst the ladies were braiding my hair yesterday.
